Cities at the Waterfall: Early Minneapolis and St. Anthony (Private event)

The only waterfall on the Mississippi is an important sacred space for the region’s native communities. In the nineteenth century, it also attracted many ambitious migrants from the east. Towns rose on both sides of the river, hoping to harness the power of the falls, and Minneapolis was born from these early settlements. In this illustrated talk, we will explore early St. Anthony and Minneapolis as they emerged at the edge of the falls.
