Re: Operating procedures
To enter, return the weekly forms with your picks circled along with the weekly entry fee of two dollars to the location and deadline noted on the form.
Home teams are capitalized on the form.
Subtracted from the total entry fees collected each week will be two dollars to cover the cost of running the FFP and two dollars to be put into a cumulative fund to be divided equally at the end of the season between the persons having the best overall records respectively in college picks and in NFL picks. (Note: Year-end pay-outs for the best overall records are determined by the percentage of correct picks based on the total number of games, excluding “pushes,” that were possible picks during the season, so those who enter consistently each week have a distinct advantage.)
The remaining funds each week will be divided equally between the entrants respectively with the most correct college picks and the most correct NFL picks that week. When it is no longer feasible to offer a sheet with college games equal in number to NFL games (i.e., after Thanksgiving, when most college seasons end), there will be a single pay-out in the remaining weeks to the person having the best combined total of picks. College and NFL picks will, however, continue to count toward the respective cumulative season totals.
Your pick must beat the point spread to win. Scores which match the point spread are considered “pushes” and will not count.
The “tie-breaker” will govern all ties. In the “tie-breaker” you should circle your pick of the winner and note the winning margin. The person who picks both the winner and comes closest to predicting the winning margin breaks the tie. In the event that no one who ties has picked the winner, the tie is broken by the person who picked the loser by the fewest points. If a tie should persist even after the “tie-breaker” is applied, pay-outs will be apportioned equally among those who tie.
Barring unforeseen circumstances, entry forms will be available to you by early Wednesday afternoon. In the event that an early entry deadline is necessitated by an abbreviated week (e.g., Thanksgiving), every effort will be made to get the entry form to you earlier.
It is expected that winners will donate their winnings to a favorite charity with the understanding that a decision to consider one’s self a charity case will be honored and respected.
