Locations of early houses in St. Anthony Park (house pictures below)

2202 Blake: Youngren/Ljungren family, 1904-1920. (John and two of Helen’s brothers worked at the American Linseed Oil Company a few blocks away in the South St. Anthony Park/Minnesota Transfer industrial area.)

2258 Scudder: Helen and Len Blomberg, 1904

2203 Blake (around the corner from 2258 Scudder and directly across the street from the Youngren house): Helen and Len Blomberg, 1905-11.

4 Langford Park Place East: Blomberg family, 1911-18. The original house was a square structure (24 x 26) underneath the higher roof at the back. The front section and porch were added much later.

4 Langford from the back, showing much of the original house. This is probably the location of the dirt-floor garage, because the house at 2203 Blake doesn’t have much room in the back.

This store-and-flat structure is located at 2190 Como. It was built by Mrs. W. H. Marshall in Fall 1918. Len Blomberg had a store at this address starting in 1916, using a small one-story structure already at the site (built in 1905). After the new building was constructed, it was also the family residence from 1919-1921. According to the 1920 census, they rented the property. In 1922, Len and Helen moved to 2129 Como, at the corner of Como and Scudder. Lloyd and Les stayed in the apartment at the store, and they worked for Erick Fett, the new storekeeper at 2190.
