From the Vikings to IKEA: A History of Scandinavian Arts and Architecture

Starting April 3: A six-week course series for the Selim Center for Lifelong Learning, University of St. Thomas.

While some aspects of the arts of Scandinavia—Munch and Modern Design, for example—are well known, there is much about the region's rich artistic accomplishment that remains unfamiliar to many outside the Nordic countries. This course explores Scandinavian arts from prehistoric stone tools and tombs to stunning contemporary architecture and design, showing a lively interchange of ideas and influences with areas near and far.
